Community Connector Program
Working together for a better understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
What is the NDIS?
The NDIS can provide our mob who have a disability with information, connect them to services in the community, and give them details about what support is provided under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The National Disability Insurance Scheme supports our mob who have a permanent or significant disability that affects their ability to take part in everyday activities and live an ordinary life. The type of support provided includes;
- Support to achieve greater independence.
- Support to being more involved in your community
- Support in gaining employment
- Support with improved well-being
- Support to children with a permanent or significant disability.
(Children aged 0-6 years and children over 7 years have different NDIS support “pathways”)
