As part of this year’s NAIDOC Week celebrations, Moorditj Koort was proud to attend and support several key community events that honoured the strength, resilience, and enduring cultural legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

City of Kwinana – NAIDOC Opening Ceremony

We extend our sincere thanks to the City of Kwinana and the Institute of Indigenous Wellbeing and Sport for hosting a meaningful and impactful Opening Ceremony. The day featured a powerful Welcome to Country, smoking ceremony, vibrant cultural performances, and a range of community stalls. It was a day of connection, pride, and healing for our mob, and Moorditj Koort was honoured to be part of it.

Moorditj Koort was also proud to participate in the City of Rockingham’s NAIDOC celebrations held at the Gary Holland Community Centre. It was inspiring to see diverse communities come together to celebrate culture and Country. The event included engaging stalls, fun activities for children, and meaningful opportunities for cultural exchange.

These events served as a powerful reminder of the importance of coming together to acknowledge and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures—not only during NAIDOC Week but throughout the year.

We thank all staff and community members who contributed to and supported these events.
