Thank You for Joining Our Healthy Heart Yarning Session in Parmelia!
Incredible turnout. Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared their thoughts on what matters most for the health and wellbeing of our Kwinana community!
Special thanks to Professor Andrew Maiorana and Ashleigh Dhu from Curtin University, who sat down with our local community to listen, learn, and connect.
Together with Moorditj Koort, they are co-designing community-led heart health programs, and your voice is essential in shaping what comes next.
Our session focused on strengthening community health through connection, education, and movement, with key highlights including:

Engaging all age groups in meaningful conversations

Partnering with local councils to improve access to community facilities

Raising awareness around heart health, stroke vs. heart attack, mental wellbeing, gut and kidney health

Promoting physical activity through water aerobics, group classes, and online training

Encouraging regular health checks and COVID-safe practices

Providing flexible access through both online and face-to-face options

Working to improve access to dental care and emergency medical services
Together, we're building a stronger, healthier Kwinana
