This new Ambulance Trial is happening because many people have raised concerns about the cost of emergency ambulance services, which can stop our mob from calling for help when they really need it.
From 1 January 2025 to 30 June 2026, the trial will make it easier and more affordable to get emergency care for all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in Western Australia — whether you live in Perth, regional, or remote areas.

Lower costs for Elders: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people aged 50 years and over can now get emergency ambulance services at a lower cost.
Free ambulance from ACCHS to hospital: If an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) or RFDS calls an ambulance because it’s medically needed, the cost will be covered.
