What is the Syphilis Prevention Program? 

The Syphilis Prevention Program is a grassroots community program to raise awareness about the current Syphilis outbreak in the metropolitan area. It also speaks to the importance of Sexual  Health and safe sexual practices in general within the aboriginal community.

 

How does the Syphilis Prevention team deliver their program? 

It does this by providing information, conducting workshops, holding yarning sessions and assisting to direct community members to service providers and professionals. We do not deliver clinical services as we are purely a grassroots information service.

 

Who can access the Syphilis Prevention  Program?

The Syphilis Prevention  Program is open to all Aboriginal community members. Community members who need information or direction to services regarding Sexual  Health matters can freely access the program. There is no restriction on who can contact us and seek information.

 

Where does the Syphilis Prevention Program operate?

The Syphilis Prevention  Program is Metropolitan wide, Moorditj Koort covers as far south as Rockingham and as far North as Yanchep in the metropolitan area.

Do I have to be a registered client of Moorditj Koort to access the  Syphilis Prevention Program?

No, anyone can contact our office and speak to our Syphilis Prevention Program/ Sexual Health staff.
